• The 2019/24 Medium Term Strategic Framework included a goal to reduce of Unauthorised, Irregular, Fruitless and Wasteful Expenditure by 2024.
• Working towards achieving the goal, National Treasury published MFMA Circular No 111 which required municipalities to develop UIFW Expenditure Reduction Strategies.
• Successful approaches and strategies to manage UIFW Expenditure and discuss challenges that still exist in some municipalities.
